On the evening of September 7, 2012, sixteen-year-old Amanda Todd posted an uncomfortable video to YouTube. In the video, she used flashcards to tell her story of “struggling, bullying, suicide, (and) self harm (SOURCE).” Amanda committed suicide on October 10, 2012, just over a month after she posted the video. It was revealed later that Amanda had been using internet chat groups for several years, and she had met one person in particular who had convinced her to show her breasts to the camera. The stranger then took the photo and attempted to blackmail Amanda with it, even going so far as to create a false Facebook account that used the topless image as the profile picture. According to Amanda’s mother, Carol Todd, “the internet stalker kept stalking her. Every time she moved schools he would go undercover and become a Facebook friend.
