There has been a great deal of controversy about removing capital punishment from the justice system and many questions are raised regarding capital punishment. Is the death penalty really a rational and effective way to respond to the crimes of certain prisoners? Does the death penalty really deters severe crimes like murder? Does the death penalty really makes difference in the society? Many people believe that it should be abolished while others believe it should be harsher on the offenders. Even though it is said that an eye for any eye makes the whole world blind, there are many reasons to keep capital punishment as part of the justice system. Capital punishment is a necessary part of every society to make sure that the law is respect and followed. Therefore, capital punishment should not be abolished and should be made legal in every society. Capital punishment is a controversial topic throughout the world. The words “death penalty” or “capital punishment” often brings out strongly emotional opinions. From ancient to present day, the death penalty has had an complex and controversial history. Back in 1600s and 1700s death penalty methods were much harsher and seemed cruel but today those methods are long gone, replaced by a more civilized society with a more humane method like lethal injection.
