This report gives insight into the many issues with the Brazos Church Pantry website that were found through the usability study. At the beginning of this study my colleagues and I sat down and looked at the website and found a few issues with the website just . Later on we conducted a usability test where we had several students from Texas A&M sit down and look at the website while answering open-ended questions and got their opinion of the website. We later collected the data from the test and came up with what we believed were the most important issues the website has and provided recommendations for it. First was the functional issue, such as, images on the home page, links not working and search tools. The images on the home page are not …show more content…
Again, the search bar is a great, easy way to navigate the website but it does not work. If these three areas worked properly the website would greatly display the organization and make it easy to navigate. The next issue many people had with the website was its appearance. As in the functional issues where images were not displayed the images that are shown are very few. The more image the website provides the more a person knows and is willing to help. Also, the coloring of the website was found to be very dull and boring making the students not really look at the website in much detail because it did not catch their eye. Along with color, font size was also a big issue, some students said that the text was hard to read because it was so small. The appearance of the website plays a big role in getting people interested in the website. The largest issue we saw with the website was the information presented was minimal. First, the list of churches that are involved in this organization was not provided although there is a link that is shown to lead you

For my leadership project, I decided to collect donations from the Trumbull Food Pantry. To organize it, I went on Trumbull’s town website home page to get a list of the most needed items from the pantry. From there, I was able to talk to my mom and her administration assistant to put a box in their office so people could drop off their donations. To inform people about this, I drafted an email and my mom sent it out from her work email address with everyone on her team in it informing them about what I was doing and what donations the Trumbull Food Pantry was asking for. My mom’s work team was involved, my mom was involved, I was involved, and the Trumbull Food Pantry, specifically Jennifer Gillis and Monica Valejo in the Social Services Department,…

When I first heard this year’s theme, “Standing Up in History,” the first thing that came to mind was the Holocaust and WWll. Remembering a book I had read a few years back titled “The Boy Who Dared” by Susan Bartoletti about Helmuth Hübene, the youngest person to be sentenced to death by the Nazi Regime, I immediately began to research other people and groups who stood up against Hitler. Soon after that, I stumbled across Sophie Scholl, a young woman in a non-violent resistance group, and began to investigate her and the group called “The White Rose” (german translation: die Weiße Rose) who between the points of summer 1942 to February 1943 wrote and published 6 leaflets about the wrongness of the Nazis. By this point, inspired and immediately…

The ability to purchase food online, including the perishables makes me a little weary. I need to see the expiration date, pick out the produce, etc. Some things take a little getting use to when it comes to items for consumption.…

Answering the Three Questions Above the Fold The goal of Kent’s Camera Castle’s landing page redesign is to increase the average daily sales by increasing conversions. Given the pay per click advertisement the paid search manager has created, the customer has opted to click “BUY NOW” to reach the website. Therefore, it is important that the purchase button is above the fold to ease the purchase process if the customer has already decided to make the purchase. The previous website had the purchase button at the bottom of the landing page which required customers to scroll, potentially causing customers to leave the site without purchasing because they could not easily locate the button to proceed.…
