The goal of Kent’s Camera Castle’s landing page redesign is to increase the average daily sales by increasing conversions. Given the pay per click advertisement the paid search manager has created, the customer has opted to click “BUY NOW” to reach the website. Therefore, it is important that the purchase button is above the fold to ease the purchase process if the customer has already decided to make the purchase. The previous website had the purchase button at the bottom of the landing page which required customers to scroll, potentially causing customers to leave the site without purchasing because they could not easily locate the button to proceed. However, the new landing page was designed to follow all the principles of the Design for Usability web framework. Ultimately, eliminating these issues allows the average user to find what they are looking for with low effort. This landing page is designed to support scanning rather than reading, through the use of bullet points and short paragraphs which convey detailed information with brevity. The purpose of each section of the page is clearly defined, allowing customers to quickly scroll to find what they are looking for. Since this is a single product landing page linked to an ad, it is important that the landing page precisely matches the feel and visual components of the advertisement. If they are different, then the landing page will confuse customers because it will not meet their expectations.
