Boca Burger Observation

I am a proud Food Network addict. And lately, I have developed quite a fondness for the reality competition, "Chopped." On this show, four "amateur" chefs compete for $10,000. They are provided with a motley collection of specific ingredients, and are charged with creating an appetizer, entrée, and a dessert; one contestant is eliminated after each course. The chefs are provided all the supplies and ingredients they need to prepare their dishes, while the judges look on. The clock winds down, and the camera pans to the chefs who struggle through all sorts of culinary obstacles and meltdowns. In watching this show, I've learned that there are several things that will get a new chef "chopped" from the competition. Tune into a few episodes, and …show more content…
Not to mention that Boca burger tastes great too. For those who are not familiar with Boca burger, Boca burger is a vegetarian meat replacement, or imitation. I prefer the burger crumbles which is a replacement for ground beef or ground turkey. The Boca crumbles are made out of soy protein. One box comes with three individual packets that contain Boca burger. Each packet is equivalent to one half pound of ground beef. I use Boca burger in every recipe that calls for ground beef. It saves me so much time and I know that it is healthier for me. There are a few recipes that are quick and easy that I make all the time with Boca burger. The easiest recipe I make with Boca burger is tacos. I take out one packet of Boca crumbles (equivalent to one half pound of ground beef) and heat the Boca on the stove. I sprinkle Taco seasoning over the Boca to give it flavor. The Boca does not take long to heat up, only about five minutes, so I usually don't pull the Boca out of the freezer until the oven is heated up and ready for the taco shells. While the taco shells cook in the oven for 5-6 minutes, I heat my Boca up over the stove. After the Boca is heated up and the shells are ready, just top your tacos with your favorite toppings and dinner is ready. My second favorite recipe I make with Boca burger is called Tater Tot Casserole. I take out two packets …show more content…
Taking the time to brown the meat and dirtying up another dish can make a quick and easy recipe a real chore. You can skip this step if you cook up a bunch of ground beef ahead of time and freeze it. I do this with 3 to 5 pounds of ground beef at a time, then freeze it in portions. You can make any amount that works for you, and of course the amount of seasoning will depend on personal taste. These are the seasonings I normally use, but you should use whatever you like best. Ground beef Worcestershire sauce Onion powder Garlic powder Cayenne Oregano Salt Pepper Preheat oven to 350-400. Place ground beef in a large glass baking dish and break up some with a fork. Add Worcestershire sauce and seasonings. Cover. Bake for 15 minutes. Stir with fork. Drain if it has produced a lot of grease. Cover. Bake until done. If you have a meat thermometer (and you should) check the temperature in the center of the meat. It should be at least 165. Drain. Allow to cool. Separate into meal-sized portions and freeze for later use. Uses for pre-cooked ground beef Now that you have several meals worth of ground beef cooked up and ready to go, what do you do with it? Here are just a few dishes that I make with my ground beef. Beef stew. You can toss the frozen ground beef right into the water without having to worry about thawing it first. Throw in whatever vegetables you have on hand, they can be fresh, canned, or frozen. If you do not

As many food service businesses should know, it is nearly impossible to avoid an outbreak of some sort forever. Unfortunately, Chipotle Mexican Grill is no exception. Since its founding, Chipotle’s claim to fame has been “food with integrity,” meaning you not only wanted to know where the food you were serving was coming from, you wanted to know how it was raised. This gesture sets such high expectations with yourself and with consumers. Although, high expectations are not necessarily a negative thing, when set exceedingly high and continually raised, the smallest unfortunate event, even an accident, can cause harm if handled incorrectly like the incident in October.…
