We have all heard the saying education is the key to success, it is an opportunity that ones can take a nuisance but studies have shown that the higher you are educated the more you will earn in the long term. Public schools have long been scrutinized for the quality of their curriculum and the preparation of students for higher education courses. Bill Gates and the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation have a long-standing commitment to evolving the public school blueprint by improving the accessibility to quality education. Founded in the year 2000 and based in Seattle Washington, The Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation is a philanthropy organization that provides funding to organizations that drive global issues in an attempt to solve the issues that affect society. The organization has provided numerous grants and funding to multiple organizations in an effort to effect change on numerous social and economic issues.
Bill Gates and the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation is one that I have always admired for their commitment to using their leadership qualities to assemble other leaders to address social issues. My first interaction with this organization was as a junior in high school. The dean of our social studies department assembled some of his brightest students to help him pitch for the foundation of a new charter school The Peace and Diversity High School.
