After Josiah learns of the “book of the Law” and its contents, He is Godly sorrowful and sincerely penitent and the King gathers all the people for a public reading of the book of Law. “King Josiah now begins to act decisively and takes center stage in the narrative.” First Josiah “directed that all the elders of Judah and Jerusalem should be gathered to him.” (v 1.
