Project is on employee engagement and retention strategy under taken at Arvind motors, Mangalore for the period of 12 weeks. Aim of the study was to find out what kind of employee engagement and retention strategy will help the employees to perform better. The organization success is highly dependent on engaging the employees by various activities to retain them to perform better. Therefore it is necessary for the company to find out which employee engagement activities make the stay in an organization for a long period. “Employee engagement” refers to bonding between employers and employees “Retention” refers to the efforts made by the employer to retain employees.

Initially, Arvind motors began its sales and services operations at a small showroom and workshop in balmatta ,Mangalore founded by Arror sripathi rao of the erstwhile Aroor family,Arvind motors began a new era in the introduction of the prestigious Telco brand of commercial vehicles’ to the district ,soon spreading its operations to the other districts of the state. In 1954 it employed about 30 personnel at its initial stage. In the 90,s the company had staked its hold in 8 regions of the state with overall employee strength of more than 300. It has built itself up to the present prestigious position by its proven competence in the automobile industry. Arvind motors have always upheld the principle that the sale of the vehicle is the beginning and not the end of transaction.
