Argumentative Essay On Illegal Immigration Security

Security According to the United States Border Control “An estimated 1 million people cross illegally into the United States each year”(McCage6). Over the years, the United States has questioned its diversity because of the millions of people that come to the counry illegally each year, this questioning of the diversity is still present. Immigrants make up a lot of the United States population, but many of them are not exactly accepted or given hospitality. Many illegal immigrants have come to the United States with hopes of a new way of life, however many Americans disagree with these newcomers. Illegal immigrants are treated badly because of their status. They are exploited by employers, are denied health insurance, and are discriminated by officers and legal citizens. The biggest problem sorrounding illegal immigrants is security. By having many illegal immigrants access the country each year, shows that the border is not really secured. The best solution is for the United States to help other countries find a way to keep its own citizens and grant amnesty for the illegal immigrants that have been in the United States for more than seven years. The Illegal Immigrants already in the United States have become familiar with the American society and have accepted the language as theirs, why send them back when they are what builds America today? America should grant legal residence and amnesty to illegal immigrants for the simple reason that they help with diversity, economy, and nationality. Illegal immigrants have been in America for many decades and have helped the country develop the diversity it is known for. Illegal immigrants are consider to be a problem in the United States because of their status and because of the overpopulation of them. The border patrol is being used to currently stop the problem of illegal immigrants coming to the United States, but it has not been so effective. Bjorklund, points out that "In 2009 approximately 20,000 border patrol agents were guarding the 3,987- mile (6,416-km) border with Canada and the 1,952-mile (3,141 -km) border with Mexico" (Bjorklund58). Even though a lot of security is placed on the border, illegal immigrants still manage to shape the United States in every way. Illegal immigrants shape not only the United States, but also their own countries. Illegal immmigrants help the diversity of the United States because by having so many illegal immigrants coming to the country each year, the ethnicities of the population keeps growing. This ethnicities change communities with the variety of cultures and traditions. They impact the economy of the United States by taking the jobs that other people think are not good enough. By illegal immigrants working on the jobs others will not take, the demand for supplies go up, which make people buy more supplies. Illegal immigrants also shape their own country's economy by working in the United States and sending the money earned back to their families. America needs illegal immigrants because they help the economy by working long hours for less pay, which helps the companies gain money. Without illegal immigrants the United States would not have the diversity it does. America should grant legal residence and amnesty to illegal immigrants for the simple reason that they help with diversity, economy, and nationality. In order to help this problem the United States should come together with other countries to help them keep the citizens in their own country, which would help secure the borders and reduce the panic for terrorism. Also to grant permanent citizenship to the people already in the United States who have lived in the country for more than three years, if they prove to have become a true American. For those who have lived mpre htan seven years they should definetly be granted amnesty and a permanent citizenship.
