Although they would let those illegal immigrants who can argue their eligibility try to obtain a green card, they would not offer a temporary legal status for illegal persons. Furthermore , they disagree with the 13-year pathway for citizenship The Senate passed in a bill (Preston 1). In regards to their ideas , 600,000 illegal immigrants could obtain a green card as spouses of citizens and 45,000 working during at least two decades. In total, 800,000 to 1.5 million of the immigrants that brought their kids to America could gain a path for citizenship (Preston 2). Republicans would slow down the legalization process for two million illegal immigrants, who would have to wait at least twenty years and five million illegal immigrants with legal statuses may not obtain citizenship (Preston 3). Although Republicans do not oppose clearly to legalization , they do not want to legalize all illegal immigrants , helping only the ones with a great chance of becoming a US citizen in the future.(Preston 2) On the other hand, according to The Republican’s bill , which is supported by conservative minds , it is only willing to give citizenship to the immigrants taken as kids into the US illegally. In regards to its economical effects , ‘’CBO estimates that the Rubio bill would boost gross domestic product by 3.3 percent between 2013 and 2023’’(Cost 1). As president Obama states , ‘’ It is just not practical to deport eleven million undocumented immigrants living within our borders’’ (Proposals 1). Illegal immigrants, regardless their criminal status as illegal border crossers, should be able to play the same rules as the rest of Americans, in order to support and improve the American economy and make the country more powerful increasing employment and the benefits of the government with new taxpayers, and
