Essay on Apple 's And Its Impact On Technology
One of the most innovative technology companies, Apple Incorporated was founded in 1976 by Steve Jobs, Steve Wozniak and Ronald Wayne. The company success can be traced back to the legendary Steve Jobs, not only a co-founder but also the late Chairman and CEO of Apple Inc. (Finkle & Mallin, 2010). Apple Inc. created the Macintosh computer and laptop, iPod and iTunes, iPhone and most recently the Apple watch (Finkle & Mallin, 2010). I will discuss how Apple differs from other technology organizations. One will see how Apple “has had a profound impact on technology, innovating and influencing the technology world” (Terrell, 2008, par 8).
Diversity in Apple Inc.
“Apple is open. Open to everyone, regardless of where they come from, what they look like, how they worship, or who they love” (Apple Inc., 2016). This patent and compelling statement exhibit Apple’s willingness to expand with surface level diversity which positively will lead to a deep level diversity. In 2015 Apple hired over 11,000 women globally, in the United States they hired more than 2,200 Black employees, and 2,700 Hispanic employees (Cook, 2016). Looking at Apples individual numbers one can see their progress, but viewing the overall numbers there is diminutive change. Their total of gender data as of June 27, 2015; 69% male to 31% female (Cook, 2016).
