Verizon has two programs called Verizon Mobile Learning Academy and the Verizon Innovative App Challenge. These programs are meant to encourage students to be interested in science, technology, engineering and mathematics and to increase student achievements by using technology. Verizon especially pushing these towards young girls, since woman hold such a small fraction of jobs in engineering and computing. By getting more girls interesting in those subjects it increases diversity in the workforce.
