Animals Versus Cosmetics Imagine a household pet’s eyes bleeding from cosmetic testing, or a dog being trapped in an animal research facility after almost twelve years and being so afraid to step out onto the grass. This is a serious problem all around the world. Unlike humans who are given an opportunity to volunteer, animals are unable to choose whether or not to be tested on. Humans also have a voice to speak out against this problem. If makeup is of such importance, why are humans not volunteering to be tested on? There should be more willing volunteers that could work for certain companies or could even be given money to be tested on. If humans are not willing to be tested on for make up products then it is clear that the testing and treatment are animals is too harsh. The idea of testing makeup or any cosmetics on animals is misguided and inhumane.
Animals are living creatures just as people are. Most of these tests have an extremely cruel treatment. A lot of the time these tests do not even lead to the release of a new product. These tests include restrained rabbits having skin and eye irritation tests done to them. The chemicals are rubbed onto their newly shaved skin or are dropped into their eyes without any pain relief so they are left to suffer and deal with the pain. (“About Cosmetics Animal Testing”).
