Animal testing is wrong because animals can be gravely injured, testing on animals is not always a good way to predict if a product is safe, and there are other better testing techniques. Many people think that animal testing is not an issue because they are just animals, but animals have feelings too. They don’t deserve to be tortured for human cosmetics.
Firstly, one-way animals are abused is in cosmetic testing. The cosmetic industry uses animals to determine their safety of the products. No one likes to be abused so just because an animal isn’t a human doesn’t give people a right to abuse them. As said in an article, “Humans do not have a right to use animals” (Lin). Think about if the shoe was on the other foot. If animals were testing and abusing humans, humans would try and revolt. Animals don’t have that option. Also, animals can die because of the testing that’s brought upon them. Being tested and dying from it is completely wrong. As said in an article, “I find it appalling that five baboons died under the “care” of researchers while at the center” (Hudson). All the killing and torture is pointless because they are not human therefore the test result are

As stated by Professor Charles R Magel,“Ask the experimenters why they test on animals and the answer is: ‘Because animals are like us’. Ask the experimenters why it is morally okay to experiment on animals and the answer is ‘Because the animals are not like us’. Animal experimentation rests on a logical contradiction” (Source #4). Scientists believe that animals are more similar to us in body anatomy and biology than personality. However, they’re more like us human in a sense of consciousness rather than body.…

According to Michael Pollan’s article, “An Animal’s Place”, the hens and pigs are being raised in an unhealthy and tiny environment just for the profits leading the animals to suffer greatly. The farmers create opportunities for the animals to hurt each other to the point that the animals can’t endure the pain anymore and even lead them to die (6). This shows how animals live a tough life without proper care and without being loved by humans. Animals are also used as tools for research experiments. Two examples of research studies that are described by Peter Singer through his article, “The Animal Liberation Movement”, show how rabbits become blind through symptoms such as swollen lids, inflamed iris, ulcerated cornea” after the Draize Test for cosmetic companies, and he also mentions how half of the sample of animals such as rats, mice, or dogs are poisoned to death in order to test for the Lethal Dose 50 test for a certain substance (Singer 7).…

I believe that cosmetic animal testing is wrong and should be banned because it is cruel, inaccurate, not very reliable, and has been proven to be unnecessary. Approximately 200,000 animals will suffer and die every year for cosmetics around the world. We as a whole have all decided that this is not necessary which is why we stopped making testing on animal cosmetics something that had to be done. Companies still continue to do it.…

People, especially scientists, are hurting innocent animals that did no harm to anyone. Animal testing shouldn't be allowed to happen because animals are getting hurt, they are not protected, and animals get mistreated. One reason that animal testing shouldn’t be allowed is because animals are getting hurt. For instance, the Draize eye test involves rabbits having their eyelids clipped open for as long as multiple days so that they don’t blink the product being tested away. Popular cosmetic brands like L'oreal, Lancome, Estee Lauder, and S.C. Johnson are used on animals.…

According to the Humane Society, “Animals being used in experiments are subjected to food and water deprivation, long periods of physical movement restraint, and burns along with other wounds to study the healing process” (Costa). These are crucial points to ban animal testing. When you take animals and conduct experiments on them it affects them deeply. “The Draize Eye Test is used by cosmetic companies to study irritation caused by shampoos and other products, involves rabbits being held in stocks with their eyelids held open by clips, sometimes for multiple days, so they cannot blink away the products being tested” (Costa). Animal testing is pointless, it doesn’t not give correct and reliable results, and it does not benefit either people or animals hugely. It is a factor that is bringing our planet down, and we need to stand up for it, and we could save millions of lives a…

The throngs of questions concerning this matter have skyrocketed, yet how often are these concerns addressed? For that matter, how many citizens even understand what cosmetic animal testing entails? As defined by Humane Society International, “the term ‘animal testing’ refers to procedures performed on living animals for purposes of research into basic biology” (About Animal Testing). These procedures typically result in pain, physiological distress, and in extreme cases, death.…
