Cost of College Tuition The article "Cost of College Tuition" by Humuhawa Jagitay, a freshman college student at Neumann University, presents a strongly expressed opinion about the cost of college education. In her article, Jagitay is clearly emotional about the high financial burden of college education. She uses examples, descriptive language and strategies to argue for free education. There are major concerns on both sides about college tuition expenses, but the author attempts to prove her argument through pathos, logos and ethos.

The author uses logos to admit that not everyone in our world today can afford college education due to their financial backgrounds. It is essential to understand the expenses in attending school for post-secondary education. However, the question if this is a fair break? This is the situation that she is currently in today. She strongly feels that the United States as a whole should provide students with free tuition. If the government pays for tuition and housing, it would be an incentive for students to work harder in school and achieve good grades. Unfortunately, students who cannot afford tuition often get part-time jobs at nights and have little time to study or complete assignments. This type of schedule may often result in students dropping out of college. Being a full-time student and not having to work is truly something that she and all of her fellow classmates tend to take for granted.
