During my transition to High School, I had the opportunity of choosing among many technical academies. Knowing that I am a future medical professional, I selected the Academy of Medical Sciences. After two years I was then selected to be a part of the superior group known as the Advanced Medical Sciences. Throughout the course of the Advanced Medical Sciences program, I was introduced to new concepts and challenges that are shaping me into a more innovative individual. Through this program, I gained leadership skills, through this program, I learned how to cooperate and communicate well with my surroundings, through this program, I learned the various concepts pertaining to the complexity of the human body and its functions, through this …show more content…
Following that would be to get my bachelor’s in nursing, then master’s in nursing so I can become a Neonatal Nurse Practitioner. My purpose and contribution to field of medical sciences is to care for the younger generation because they are the ones who can continue making the innovative changes for the medical field in the future. With ambition comes goals, and with goals comes determination. As I watched my older sister attend the University of Miami’s high school careers in Medicine workshop in the summer of 2016, I had seen an ambition in her that I have never seen before. Growing up, we both knew we were destined to work in the medical field, as we encountered traumatic medical experiences with both of our parents. However, we were still conflicted on what exactly would be our purpose and contribution to the field of medicine. It was through this program my sister found her purpose. Although I have already found my purpose, I believe that this program will aid in getting me on the right track towards my goal. My passion to learn more about medicine and work towards my goal through this program is unexplainable. Therefore, when I am accepted, It will be expressed through my actions.
