Situational Challenges Of Effective Leadership

How leader encourages people to adapt any problem that his or her followers could face is a very important approach that leader should aware about it. In this essay I am going to identify adaptive leadership, and the situational challenges that leaders could face: technical challenges, adaptive challenges, and both technical challenges and adaptive challenges. Moreover, I am going to identify six leader behaviors in the process of adaptive leadership. Also, I am going to illustrate these concepts by applying it to an issue that I have observed on the school that I have worked.

It requires leader to help his or her followers to accept the change because some people do not feel comfortable when they change the beliefs or behaviors that they have. Therefore, leader should help these people to make the change with less distress. By using the process of maintaining disciplined attention, leader should encourage people to have a discussion about the problem instead of ignore it. That would help the followers to feel comfortable about this problem and work to find a solution. The fifth leader behavior that is very important for adaptive leader is to give the work back to the people. That would be by providing structure and guideline for their work, so they would feel comfortable. For example, teachers in the previous example should have a clear structure from the leader about the new technologies and how is does it work. The final leader behavior to adaptive leadership is protect leadership voices from below. That means leader should be listen to his or her followers, especially low-status individuals. That would help improve work environment and make changes because leader focus on treating followers equally. Giving low-status members’ voice would enhance them to involved and accept the change.
To conclude, I we have seen, the significance of adaptive leaders and the rule that leader should use with technical challenges, adaptive challenges, and both technical challenges and adaptive challenges. Also, how this rule applied to the issue that I had in my work as a teacher. Finally, the six leader behaviors in the process of adaptive leadership were
