Every Day a tragedy greater than 9/11 takes place, but hardly anyone is talking about it anymore. On September 11th, 2001 more than 3,000 Americans lost their lives. That was a great evil, but so is the fact that we purposely kill more than 3,00 of our own babies every single day in this country. Today, the US has the highest abortion rate in the entire western world. How would you feel being ripped apart not even getting a chance at life? A lot of people know what abortion is, but they do not truly understand it and the negative effects it has on people. Abortion is detrimental to many people especially women, it takes innocent lives, violate civil rights, and is damaging to relationships. Abortion is one of the most common medical procedures performed in the united states each year. “More than 40% of all women will end a pregnancy by abortion at some time in their reproductive lives” (“EMedicineHealth”) Abortion is the ending of pregnancy by removing a fetus or embryo before it can survive outside the uterus. Although it may seem harmless, it is definitely not! Day after day, week after week, and year after year, innocent unborn children are quietly destroyed behind sterile clinic doors, and no one seems to care. There are two types of abortion treatments, ‘Medical’ and ‘Surgical’. Until the late 1800’s woman healers in Western Europe and the U.S. provided abortions and trained other women to do so, without legal prohibitions. In 1973 the Roe v. Wade case took place. It…
