Abortion 1 Should abortion be banned? That is a controversial debate that has been discussed upon for several years, with no answer. What exactly is abortion? It is the termination of human pregnancy, which is mostly performed during the first twenty-eight weeks of pregnancy. There are four types of abortion procedures during first trimester, and three types of abortion procedures during the second trimester. One of them is “Dilation and Curettage,” which is a procedure used to terminate a pregnancy up to 16 weeks. According to a study called “Scandinavian Journal of Public Health” it stated that young women who undergo abortion have an increase in depression, were more likely to commit suicide, and had highly significant anxieties up to five years after the pregnancy termination. Lastly abortion is used as a way to prevent pregnancies. If the women gets pregnant, they should grow up, and accept that responsibility. Although their are some cases on women aborting because of rape, their are better ways, like putting the child for adoption. Many women don’t have the privilege to conceive so they should give the unwanted babies to a loving family that has been trying to conceive for a long time then killing the fetus. Now if their aborting because of lack of protection, then it’s both genders fault, if they wanted to have sexual intercorse they should have prevented this type of problem by using contraceptive methods; although these can still lead to pregnancy. The unborn child should not be punished for something that wasn’t their fault, but the fault of the adults, and they should accept responsibility or give them up for …show more content…

Abortion is an issue for public concern because their are two sides in this debate. Although this issue has been around for a long time, no one has came to a conclusion on whether or not it should be banned, or how ethical this issue really is; since both parties make quite impressive cases.
