I define effective goal writing as actively choosing a desired path, with the intent of accomplishing a given purpose. There are various ways to write effective goals, however the acronym “S.M.A.R.T.” can adequately be used to assist anyone with setting and achieving goals. S.M.A.R.T. fitness goals (2009), suggests to be specific with goals, track your progress, set short-term/achievable goals, set realistic/flexible goals and to aim for goals that are on a short-term time frame. In order to be successful, we must not set ourselves up for failure. In my life, I personally set short-term and long-term goals. One short-term goal I have for my daily life is to find something positive about each and everyday. My long-term goal in life is to live with purpose and to live as if it were my last. If I can strive to be positive and live with a purpose, then I have no regrets when my time is over. The goals I set for my future are not just limited to my life, they also include my wellness and academic goals. A goal I have for wellness, is to strive to be healthy, both emotionally and physically. If don 't keep myself healthy, then I am only giving up on my long-term goal of living life with a purpose. Academically, a goal I have is to prove to myself that I can accomplish anything I set my mind to. I am a strong willed person and I have always been driven to succeed at doing well with school and things that hold me accountable. I often set the most goals for my personal life. I…
