When coaching there are many skills to obtain, but one that is very important is listening. A coach uses three types of listening skills and they are informal, active in initiative listening. Informal listen it is most common use in coaching and every day conversation. This listening skills focus on facts and information. As the listener, the listener maybe or not be interested in what the person is speaking on. This is why this type of listening seems to be passive. Active listening is where the listener is focused on what is being talked about by showing interest and awareness toward the other person.
