Children have a difficult time to transition from home to school because they must adapt to two sets of rules, values, expectations, and behaviors. (NAEYC, 1995). The families and teachers must respect and reinforce each other because you work together and will have the best benefits for the children. Teachers when they acknowledge and respect the child’s home language and their culture the ties between families and the teacher are strengthened. This type of atmosphere helps the child feel supported, nurtured, and helps them to feel connected. This helps the child learn better. (NAEYC, 1995).

A. Give them opportunities to engage in social interaction with their peers, and teachers need to support them as they develop their language skills to help with those interactions. (Ford, 2007).
3. Expose the ELLs to rich language input. (Ford, 2007) A. Exposing the Ells to rich language through book reading or teacher talking, has shown to make the ELLs oral language more enhanced.
