Gender roles play a big part in my family and community. For example, for events that a person hosts the children always eat first then the men, and the women are last. This has been going on my whole life. I was not trying to test my experiment on this but it just happened to go along with my experiment. I defiantly wanted to see what people’s reactions were when I would take their food off their plates. I have known these people I whole life, some better than others. Before the events start, the men always stand outside the shelter house and talk about the weather and farmer stuff. The women are usually sitting around tables gossiping or getting the meal ready. They kids run to the playground equipment and some of the mothers will go watch and make sure nobody gets hurt. This time we bought bouncy houses and the kids loved it and we could not get them off of it. When it came time eat that is when my experiment began. For this experiment I decided to weird the normal while waiting for food at a church picnic. I decided that I was going to budge in line and take food off other peoples’ plates. The first time I try to go through the line with my friends, I got told I was too old for the kids’ line so I needed to wait until after the men ate. That really caught me off guard because I had never been told that, and talking with my friends from where I grew up.
