Why School Should Start Later

School start times have been a debate in some schools. I believe that schools should start later. Students in general may not be ok with waking up early for school. Some schools have realized that, due to their observations.
Students have problems getting to school. But most of the time they would find a way to get to school. According to the article The Early Bird Gets a Bad Grade, they say “In Kentucky and Minnesota, simply flipping times for the elementary and high schools meant no extra cost for buses.” No extra cost for buses won’t affect the students as much as their number one priority, their education. However by changing school time to later could bring improvement to them.
Additionally, by having school start later, have helped many students. “In 2002, high school in Jessamine County in Kentucky pushed back the bell to 8:40 a.m, from 7:30a.m. Attendance immediately went up, as did scores on standardized tests, which have continued to rise each year. It’s important that the students get to school and have time to learn. They are not driving as defensively as they should. They are not getting as much sleep, It’s a struggle to drive so early. In addition,it would make huge difference, students lives could be saved.
