October 19, 2014 In the article “Why I Would Vote No On Pot” Sanjay Gupta, says marijuana isn’t good for you and it can it can affect your short-term memory, I like many other doctors am unimpressed with the proposed legalization which would legalize marijuana irrespective of any medical condition(www.cannibisculture.com).
Can be used to treat Glaucoma Medical marijuana is promoted for many diseases, such as glaucoma. Glaucoma is an eye condition in which the optic nerve becomes damaged with time. There are times where it can lead to blindness. Medical marijuana can lower your Intraocular Pressure (IOP) in people with glaucoma. There are people that need it when they have serious health problems. It also decreases the symptoms of a severe disorder called Dravet’s Syndrome. Dravet’s Syndrome causes severe developmental delays and seizures. Doctors who recommend this treatment say that the cannabidiol in the plant interferes with the brain cells to calm down the these seizures. Patients who have been using it say it has helped tremendously and has been working for them.
Gupta is a neurosurgeon and CNN’s chief correspondent. Back in 2009 he wrote an article called “Why I would vote no on pot” where he addresses his concerns on marijuana. In 2013, he apologized for that article and changed his mind on marijuana.
