Why I Choose To Become A Nurse

Why did I choose to become a teacher? That is a question that I kept reflecting on since this year. When I was in sixth grade, my teacher told me that I would make a great teacher someday. It all happened when I was standing in front of the class showing my own classmates how to do a math problem on the white board. When my teacher made that statement it took me by surprise because I never really did think of it. Of course I was young to think about what I wanted to do but many people had dreams of becoming a nurse someday and they are now pursuing that career path. Years passed and soon my senior year of high school came and that is when I really had to start thinking about a career path. Senior year was tough for me partly because many …show more content…
When going through orientation, I have to admit it was scary because they mentioned situations that might occur and what you could do and I didn’t think that I would be able to handle them. I guess it does take experience to deal with difficult situations. I learned through experience on how to deal with temper tantrums or stubbornness. I found out what worked and what didn’t work. By going through this experience, I realized that I am capable of handing any student. The third reason would be that I know that I made a difference in a child’s life throughout the camp. I want to do the same for my students when I become a teacher. I want to be a role model and not only a teacher, but also someone they can come to talk to when they are having a tough day. I want them to know that I will be there for them if they think that they have no one else. The last reason that I knew I wanted to pursue the education path is because I will be able to help them shape the future. They do not realize that they are the future and as a teacher I will help them become the excited learner that every child desires to be. At Camp Grassick, I found ways that makes a child excited to do a craft or play a learning game. I can apply these ways when I become a

I chose to pursue a teaching career for middle school because I feel that children are at that age where they are interested in everything. They want to know more than what they learned when they were in elementary school and that makes me excited for them. I remember when I was younger when I first told my parents that I wanted to become a teacher because my seventh grade math teacher had the greatest influence on me, and I remember them telling me that becoming a teacher would be a mistake because they didn’t make much money. To this very day, I believe that if you want to become a teacher it’s because you have a big heart and you’re not in it for the income but for the outcome. Hard work and determination will allow me to pay for the things that I want in life, such as my dream house, and children, vacations, cars, and more…

In my perfect world people would live healthy lives; they would always pick the healthy option rather than the cheap more convenient one. Free clinics would be more readily available for the homeless or less fortunate. The public would be interested in precautions on how to prevent the spread of diseases and illnesses. Realistically this is a challenge that our world faces and is one of the many reasons why I want to pursue a degree in nursing. My desire to enter into the medical field and become a nurse stems back to when I was an adolescent; I can remember watching Dr. 90210 do multiple surgeries on patients and I can just remember myself saying “I want to be able to make people feel good about themselves, no matter what.”…
