Why I Should Become A Teacher Essay

Why did I choose to become a teacher? That is a question that I kept reflecting on since this year. When I was in sixth grade, my teacher told me that I would make a great teacher someday. It all happened when I was standing in front of the class showing my own classmates how to do a math problem on the white board. When my teacher made that statement it took me by surprise because I never really did think of it. Of course I was young to think about what I wanted to do but many people had dreams of becoming a nurse someday and they are now pursuing that career path. Years passed and soon my senior year of high school came and that is when I really had to start thinking about a career path. Senior year was tough for me partly because many people knew what they wanted to do with their life and I was still contemplating on what I should do. By the end of the year I decided to go into Business Administration. When I look back on my freshman year of college, I do have to admit that it was a good idea to take a couple of business classes before switching my major. Why do I say that it was a good thing? Well because during my freshman year at the University of Mary I took a Principles of Management class that really focused on finding out who you were and how to become a great leader. This class really helped me discover who I was as a person and what I needed to work on. If I didn’t take this class, I wouldn’t have been reflecting upon situations that occurred in my life.…
