. I have chosen to become a nurse practitioner because this career is a combination of the things that I love to do. Nurse practitioners are registered nurses that are qualified to treat certain medical conditions without the supervision of a doctor. They are considered primary and specialty care providers. I have wanted to be a nurse practitioner for about two years now. I think that this would be the perfect career for me because I would get to help people, interact with others, and basically because the human body is very interesting to me. 3. Nurse practitioners have to be able to perform many different tasks while they are on the job. Being a nurse practitioner has many satisfactions. I have two main reasons why I would love to become a nurse practitioner. The first reason is that I would love to get to help others for a living. The other reason is that I would get to interact with other people all day instead of sitting behind a desk and being bored. I am a very social person, so my career needs to be something where I am almost always talking to people. 15. Nurse practitioners also have very many available benefits. These benefits include health insurance, travel allowance for house calls, sick leave, and a decent amount of vacation time (Employment Negotiations). 14. Along with being a fun, rewarding job, nurse practitioners make a lot of money. My mom is a single parent to my brother and I, and she is a teacher. Therefore, we are sometimes pretty limited on money. Because of this, having a job where I get to make a large amount of money and provide for my future family would be great. A nurse practitioner’s average yearly pay is about eighty-one thousand dollars. 16. A recent college graduate would average around forty thousand dollars a year, where someone with a lot of experience could make up to one hundred twenty thousand dollars per year (Nurse Practitioners).
