I believe that video games don’t make kids violent. In recent events the sells of mature rated games have gone up and juveniles crime rate have gone down by 76%. Also, people that work at Journal of Psychiatric Research have found that most crimes have not been related or link to violent video games. Another thing is, if the parent know that that isn't real and know that it is just a game. But I truly think that a seven year old shouldn’t be playing a mature rated game. A parent can tell their kid that and make them know that it is just a game. Which video games also can teach you things that you might need later on in your life. Examples of this is that it can teach you to focus your attention, screen reading, and education arcade. These things can help you later on in your life and maybe in a job. …show more content…
They will try stuff in the game because they know that they can’t do it in real life. A quote “Research shows that playing violent video games can induce a feeling of guilt that leads to increased prosocial behavior” which I think is true because a 12-14 year can tell if something is real or fake. Another thing is that the people that do bad stuff everybody assumes that it is because of video games. But actually most crimes are not even related to violent video games. In some of the text it says “especially boys, play video games as a means of managing their emotions: "61.9% of boys played to 'help me relax,”. Which I think is also true because you get into the game so you don’t really need to worry about what else is happening. “By age seven, children can distinguish fantasy from reality, and can tell the difference between video game violence and real-world violence. which I said before because if people say that video games make people violent there is more problems on T.V. Because as a kid you watch T.V and didn’t play video

The American Academy of Pediatrics states that real life violence can be traced back to exposure to violent video games. This, of course, can be easily falsified due to the increasing number of teens that have been exposed to violent video games without committing any violent offenses. Since video games are interactive and may even encourage role-playing, they may cause teens to lose sight of reality. The guidelines of how children usually learn include adopting behaviors after seeing and mimicking them. However, these findings are inconclusive because not all teens learn the same way.…

Do you think that maybe people blame paraphernalia just because they need a scapegoat? Well, that is what people are using violent video games for. As stated by Tanner Nypen, “After reading about the video game violence debate, I have seen that, yes, many of the shooters played violent video games, and that seems like a likely cause for their actions. However, this does not explain why the millions of other teenagers and adults who play video games don’t go out and commit huge acts of terror. ”(Nypen).…

Although violent videogames do expose adolescents to graphic content, that does not mean the viewer will become violent themselves. Videogames should not be the scapegoat for when teen violence occurs. The problem that people are facing is that they are making quick assumptions that since teens are exposed to videogames then they are going to be shooters. In the article, “Violent Video Games Do Not Cause Aggression”, David Kushner explains, “If no one has said there’s a causal link between games and real-life violence, why does it keep making headlines, and why do these get cited so much?”…

Video Games Do Not Cause Violent Behavior Over the years there have been several incidents that have stirred up the emotions of people, parents and especially investigators. These incidents include the Sandy Hook Elementary Shooting, the Columbine Massacre, and the incident in Colorado where a man went on a shooting spree in an Aurora movie theater. There was one key thing that aroused people’s emotions connected by investigators to all three incidents: video games. This led to the belief that if the parents’ children play violent video games that the child will become violent. Even though people have been led to believe that video games cause people to become cruel and commit violent actions, video games do not cause people to commit acts of violence because they don 't have time to…

The parents of younger children believe that video games are what make children violent and that is true to some extent, but their children would not be violent in the first place if they would follow the rules and buy their children game within their age limit. They believe it is the games fault when actually their kids behavior is spawned from them allowing them to play older rated games. Games today are becoming harder and harder to play because all of the ignorant parents are buying their children games they are not supposed to play, then complaining that their children are too violent, which then increases the rating.
