Why Do I Deserve Courage To Grow Scholarship

I believe that I deserve the “Courage to Grow” Scholarship, because I’m very determined and take my education seriously. Both during college and high school I faced a series of obstacles such as living at a women’s shelter at the age of sixteen, the death of my grandmother and cousin my freshman and sophomore year of college, and attending counseling for emotional abuse and a risk for developing an eating disorder. I overcame each obstacle despite the mental stress. There were rough patches with my grades at the beginning of college, but I worked hard each semester to raise my GPA, and make honor roll.
