In the Holy bible it states, “More than that, we rejoice in our sufferings, knowing that suffering produced endurance, and endurance produces character, and character produces hope, and hope does not put us to shame, because God’s love has been poured into our hearts through the Holy Spirit who has been given to us.” (Romans 5:3-5, English Standard Version). This is the perfect explanation of why bad things happen to good people. Pain, negativity, suffering, and essentially bad things are all inevitable, all a part of life, and all a part of God’s plan for each individual. It does not mean we (I like to think the majority of us are good people) have necessarily done anything wrong or that He loves us any less or is being cruel. However, without bad in the world it would be extremely difficult for everyone to grasp exactly what is good in the world and to value what is important in this life. The aftermath of bad that goes on in the world makes everyone take a step back, reflect, and it really goes to show who is good and bad in the world based off how people are handing those triumphant situations. We can choose to let the negative happenings in life bring us down, keep us down, and to live with bitterness that turns into rage; or we can turn that situation around, hold our head up high, praise Him, and move forward.
