Although good is defined in many ways, it essentially means obtaining the qualities that depict a virtuous, ethical and kind nature. This closely corresponds with the interpretation of good in the Bible. Eliminating all evil in the world is unattainable, however, due to this, good will always be present. An example of an act of good in the world was when people donate their food to aid those in need. Although this is simple, it provides evidence that good still opposes evil in the world. Furthermore, when individuals act on their generosity to donate money to charities around the world is an example of people positively exercising their free will. This concept of forgiveness is applied throughout the teachings of Judaism. However, if Christians endeavour to achieve forgiveness from God, and have exhibited this to others, the Lord will absolve these individuals from sin. Followers also request that God absolves the acts of unjust from those who committed a sin towards the individual. Christianity's perspective on forgiveness results from the the most consequential sacrifice of God’s son, Jesus, in order for the sins of humanity to be forgiven, the death that allowed all to be exonerated from their wrongdoings, and therefore, were then obliged to do the same to their fellow neighbours. Overall, forgiveness in Christianity has arisen due to the salvation of the Messiah, thus, a difference in the views of forgiveness by these two religions is that Jews do not believe that believe in Jesus’ sacrifice, and that He is the son of God.
