Different, everyone is different, and as a society we should accept these differences. We all want to find who we really are and what makes us, well, us. I’ve always questioned myself and wondered every day if I am a “normal” person. Today I am slowly discovering who I am and honestly, there is no such thing as “normal” or “perfect”. No matter who you are, there will be people judging you and that I something we all got to live with. Someone once told me, “You have to find your own voice and find your own way through life” and this is the quote I live by every day. There is no need to be ashamed of who you are and no need to hide it from anyone because those who matter will love you just the way you are. About eighty percent of the world is attracted to the opposite gender and leaving the other twenty percent attracted to their own gender. Majority of us grow up in a heterosexual community and are raised to like the opposite gender but for almost sixteen years I had to wake up every day thinking I need to change because I didn’t like the opposite gender. I’ve held in that part of me so long that it began to hurt and depression struck. There would be nights when my mind twirled around thoughts of suicide and how great it would be to just disappear. Months would go by and it got to the point where I couldn’t sleep most nights, and during all of this, my parents got a divorce and my dad blamed it on me.
