Having a cultural competence comes very easy to my cultural background, mainly because of my own diversity. I was born in Scotland and lived there for the first seven years of my life. Our family migrated to Canada from Great Britain and I became a Canadian citizen. It was through later on in my life that I moved down here too Texas to work in ministry. I believe that with all the adjustments I have made to various cultures it has given me a little insight to others who are of a different culture. I lived in Canada most of my life and consider myself Canadian, one of the advantages of my life in Canada was that I lived in big cities.
