Before the rebellion, all the animals understood each other and were on the same page as each other. They all wanted to be treated better than they had been treated by Jones and all of his men. Old Major had talked about them being mistreated, the animals always listened, but never did anything. After Old Major died, all the animals secretly started to plan a rebellion but they never knew if it was going to happen. Then one day, Jones and his men started to whip the animals, and so forth they did what they had planned. Jones then left with his men, leaving the animals to themselves. The pigs were able to seize power because they had more intelligence than any other animal and Old Major’s speech helped the pigs take over. Then, towards the end of the book, the pigs started to talk to the neighboring farm and they changed Animal Farm back into Manor Farm. The pigs, also, started to grow legs and become more human like. I feel like the quote “all animals are equal, but some are more equal than others” is saying that while everyone is being treated like they wanted to be treated, they aren’t being treated the same because all of the pigs were getting the better education, or the better food. The pigs were always treated better than the other animals because the pigs talked about wanting the apples, but they would only want the apples if they had tasted them before, showing that Jones and his men more than likely fed the pigs apples while they were being mistreated. The revolution was obviously going to fail from when they first started planning it because they didn’t really have an understand on when it was going to happen or what was going to happen afterwards.
