This has been going on for a long time now. The voting turnout for people between the ages of 18-24 reached an all-time low in the 1996 and 2000 election with about 32 percent. Later in 2008 it jumped to around 44 percent, but sadly fell back down to 38 percent in the 2012 elections. As opposed to citizens above the age of 24 where their percentage is around 60 (Bureau). The young adults should think of the importance of their voice in a different. If one person says “I am not going to vote, one vote is not going to do anything”, and the next person says that and this thought continues one. At the end, you will see that about less than half of the young adults did not vote because each one of them thought that their voice won’t matter. Imagine they did not think that way, and they actually voted during the presidential elections. There are about 31.5 million people between the ages of 18-24 in America which is about 9.9 percent of the America. What if something that did not apply to you now applied to you in the next year or two? Whether you like it or not you are going to have to stick with the presidential candidate that got elected until his or her term is over. Some people might be better voting for a presidential candidate not because of what they will do right now. Instead, they should vote for a presidential candidate that will address their future needs. There was a survey of a thousand people between the ages of 18-34 taken and 77 percent said that they are most likely to vote (LoGiurato). I am certain most of these people are thinking about what the next presidential candidates can do for their future. There was a study that showed people begin to think about their future in almost every perspective in their early twenties (Henig). If that is the case, you should also think about somebody that will also have somewhat of a say in how your future turns out, the president. It would be to your benefit if you choose a presidential candidate that has a plan that help you out the most in the
