What are some issues in the United States that you care about? The issues that I care about is how bad America’s education is, how expensive universities can get, healthcare, and the lack of good doctors in America. I care about these issues mainly because affects my family and I. Since I am a young adult who is just starting to go to college, I care about this country’s education system and the costs of it. I also care about the the costs of healthcare because as I grow older, I am going to take on more responsibilities and this is one of the things that should concern me. These can all be influenced on who we vote for whenever election time comes around. I am sure that there a lot more of people that are in the same situation as me. Yet, young adults like do not get around to voting and voicing our opinions in these elections. That is why I think more young adults should start voting in elections because your vote will count for something and it will help you for your future. Many young adults including me have this thought stuck in our head that our vote will not make a difference in the elections. This has been going on for a long time now. The voting turnout for people between the ages of 18-24 reached an all-time low in the 1996 and 2000 election with about 32 percent. Later in 2008 it jumped to around 44 percent, but sadly fell back down to 38 percent in the 2012 elections. As opposed to citizens above the age of 24 where their percentage is around 60 (Bureau).
