Some younger adults are less educated in politics and have not had as much experience in voting. Those Texans who have attended college are said to be more likely to vote. While attending college and participating in more groups or group activities, campaigns and interest groups are more likely to mobilize youth. Non college youth are less likely to be part of groups or have a membership in union and are harder to reach out to about voting. With a government elected by its citizens and that effects every aspect of our lives from schools to health care to homeland security, voting is an important right in our society. Because of this importance, everyone as a community needs to help increase voter turnout. They can start by urging the governor and Legislature to make voting a value we respect. They can continue to make recommendations to the Legislature in every cycle to improve voter registration and the states’ turnout performance. Another way to help voter turnout would by encouraging others to vote. Word of mouth is always an excellent way to spread the word. If all voting citizens could convince a family member, friend, or even a coworker to vote, turnout would increase. Media could also try and aim towards a different age range. Instead of targeting older citizens who have already voted, media needs to target younger adults who have not voted
