Carbon Footprint Persuasive Essay

One small thing people should be willing to do that will make the world a better place environmentally is recycle. This can be reflected by several different ways such as: Carbon footprint,Tragedy of the Commons,Use of natural resources, cause of global warming, and its repercussions. By comparing the current consequences vs the possible outcomes, it will be clear that this small change will make an enormous impact on the world. A carbon footprint is defined as: The total amount of greenhouse gases produced directly and indirectly support human activities, usually expressed in equivalent tons of carbon dioxide. All products that we consume are supporting human activities either directly or indirectly; every water bottle you drink, every …show more content…
Without balance, it will fall over, and probably not be able to get back up. Mars is a great example, it supposedly has all the ingredients for life, and some people argue that it has evidence of having had life, but it did not have balance; it was too close to the sun, and its atmosphere was burned away (assuming science got this one right). Not all imbalances are man-made, however here on Earth most of our problems are. Here on Earth we are beginning to call imbalance by another name: Global Warming. Global warming is considered as an increase in the surface temperature of the Earth as a result of increased levels of greenhouse gases. The production of paper via recycled materials uses up to eighty percent less water than paper production that uses new or raw materials. This is just a small sample, many things that we do produce greenhouse gases. My step-father is a mechanic, and loves cars, but every time a car gets turned on, it floods our atmosphere with pollution (another name for greenhouse gases). If as a society we instead used renewable resources such as solar powered cars (which have no emissions and are renewable), the Earth 's greenhouse gas levels would go down. No single thing will drastically change the world, this concept needs to be applied on a global scale as a lifestyle, not a

Recycling can help with stopping global warming because global warming is cause by greenhouse gases. Greenhouse gases are in pollution and recycling plants produce less pollution than manufacturing factories. Other than saving the world from heating up recycling can also save forests. Basically trees turn into paper in factories but recycling paper stops some pollution and saves trees.…

There is a simple bottom line to it all which is Reduce, Reuse, Recycle which will all hand in hand help in the dilemma of Global Warming. Reduce would be the reduction of the amount of energy we use or maybe even water we use which will in turn reduce the use of fossil fuels to provide such amenities. Reuse would refer to the reuse of resources that we currently have such as energy that is renewable or maybe something as simple as the reuse of a plastic container so that making another one for one’s use is eliminated. Recycle would pertain to the recycling of recyclable goods such as plastics, papers, and metals where it is possible to reduce the production of these things which results in the release of GHG’s. If the population of the world adopts the Reduce, Reuse, recycle plan there will be a drop in GHG’s hands down because GHG’s is result of those actions not being…

But how about this, 110 millions trees were chopped down last year just for paper towels. Also 130 billion gallons of water were also used to make these paper towels. The paper towels are used once, sent to a landfill and then decomposed. The decomposure of the paper towels releases methane, a greenhouse gas, to the atmosphere. Methane is a strong component in climate change that affects people, nature, and animals.…

Many people think that they can't make a difference but even small things like recycling, reducing waste, and reusing products can make a huge impact on our world. In the 1970’s, citizens like us started to call stronger laws to protect clean water. This led to a big project known as The Clean Water Act. In many areas where wildlife has disappeared returned once again because of the act. After the citizens actually did something about the situation, the amount of wildlife around rivers, lakes, and oceans had increased and even some species that were dying out had finally come back and were no-longer on the verge of…

Six billion trees are cut down every single year and used for lumber and more commonly paper. One tree produces an average of eight thousand three hundred thirty-three pieces of paper that is that means 49,998,000,000,000 pieces of paper are used each year. When all of these trees are being cut down with machines that create carbon dioxide we are also getting rid of the main things the give us the oxygen that we need to survive. A fantastic way that the United States can cut down on a number of greenhouse gasses in the air is by stopping deforestation. Hundreds of animals lose their habitats each year due to deforestation.…

Hurricanes are benefitting from the effects of climate change. Humans should be concerned about how climate change intensifies natural disasters, more specifically hurricanes, for it affects our lives and the environment. Places susceptible to hurricanes, such as the Gulf of Mexico and Eastern Pacific Ocean, will be hit by more intense storms in the future if we are not mindful of how to slow down climate change. Hurricanes are formed when the moist air from the surface of oceans rise and meets cooler air as it rises.…
