The picture shows the graphic intensity of war. This is a picture of a man who has been gassed, presumably by Cl2. Cl2 was a gas used by both sides that irritated the eyes, lungs, and skin; it is a very nasty gas that is lethal and toxic. The man is lying on a stretcher, he has been shot, and it looks like he has been shot multiple times as spots of deep color are shown on his clothes. These dark spots look similar to an entry wound that blood is pouring out of.…

Kongo Nkisi figures were made to protect persons from swellings of the body or inflicts such as illnesses on deserving criminals or enemies . The Nkisi Figure is made of European cotton covered with thick red camwood impasto (the color choice is very likely symbolizing the fierce quality of this Nkisi). White buttons and porcelain and glass beads are sewn on the charm for a glittering effect. The bottom part and the top part of the figure are tied by a braided raffia string, which suggests the arrest of spirit. This is similar to the effect or the symbolization of the gold chain of sequins on the Bosou Paket mentioned above.…

The painting is in form of asymmetrical balance, although both the left and right contain similar elements, which are a humanoid figure and a tree, the visual weight is heavier on the right due to the usage of a more saturated colour, which creates a more intense contrast between the red of the humanoid figure and the green of the tree nearby. Moreover, the size of the forms mentioned above is also larger than those of the left, and thus also contribute to the heavier visual weight. In terms of movement and rhythm, as a viewer myself, I would first look at the humanoid figure on the right, then follow his gaze to look up to the trees and then to the sky above, then to the door on the left and then to the tree and humanoid figure on the left.…

This piece is called Warrior with Shield by Henry Moore, from the mid-twentieth century (1953-1954). Looking at this sculpture we see a powerful image of a man who looks like a solider, defending himself. The body is manipulated by the artist in such a way that both fear and strength are portrayed in the sculpture. The man is sitting, holding a circular shield in his right hand towards his chest. His left arm and leg are severed, which could be the reasoning for him not standing while protecting himself.…

Also, the mixture of warm colors on top combined with primary and secondary colors give the painting a delicate effect particularly the three green brush strokes as it adds even more mystery to the painting. Furthermore, the diagonal lines that shape the floor and the barriers of the bridge and the curved lines on the water make a combination of energy and endlessness at the same time because the side of where the scared looking person is, looks completely different from where the water, which is what perhaps reflects the degree of anxiety that the scared looking person was suffering in that particular…
