Have you ever been so drawn to your TV screen before? The temptation of picking up that controller, and turning on that game system to play a videogame, and “escape all of reality”? Well, then it’s the start of a video game addiction. Now what of the children or teenagers? Seeing a child carry a phone at the age of 8 years, constantly playing games, and being warped into their screens. Video game addiction is bad for us, because it causes increased aggression, health problems, suffering relationships, poor performance, and time consuming.
As video game addiction causes increased aggression, it then leads to be violent and depressed. As it states in WebMD- Video Game Addiction, “Young says compulsive gaming meets these criteria, and she has seen severe withdrawal symptoms in game addicts. ‘They become angry, violent, or depressed. If [parents] take away the computer, their child sits in the corner and cries, refuses to eat, sleep or do anything.’” As you can see, the increased effects of aggression causes the child to refuse to do much, ever since the child was punished, and the parents have taken away the computer. It’s because of the parent taking away the device, that they succumb to their child, and gives into their need, because they don’t want to see their child depressed, or they’re annoyed by their immature state. Say that you have bought your beloved son, the latest model of the IPad, for his 8th birthday. He then thanks you with a loving kiss on the cheek, and…
