Register to read the introduction… A professor from Stanford University, Clifford Nass, stated, "Kids have to learn about emotion, and the way they do that, really, is by paying attention to other people. They have to really look them in the eye." Most kids these days don't even communicate face-to-face. Texting has become the main form of communication, so when kids get home, how can they look at each other in the eye if they just text? Another study has shown that children's social skills are affected negatively when they multitask with technology. One parallel is that there's a link between the advancement of technology and the growing percent of people who are obese. Those chubby humans in the movie became obese because they became consumed in their technology. Humanity right now is becoming heavily dependent on technology, and it's most likely impossible to wean ourselves from it completely. However, we can train ourselves to use technology in moderation. In the next five years, we can expect these effects to become more defined in society. Text claw might become an official health condition, or the next generation might become more socially isolated outside of school. In the next ten or fifteen years, we can expect to see even more health issues and maybe even a decline in academics because of the way technology causes humans' to gain shorter attention spans and lose their focus easier. Possibly in the next twenty years, who knows? A version of the Axiom might even be built or …show more content…
The benefits of technology is obvious with the way it brings convenience, comfort, and entertainment to our lives, but the negative effects it brings are usually overlooked because of the positive effects it gives us. Technology has affected us mentally, socially, and physically and not always in a good way. If we don't do something to help slow down these effects, our future may turn out like the future of the humans in

First and foremost, as demonstrated in the YouTube video The Lonely Experience: “I forgot my Smartphone” displaying the lonely effects of being in the presence of others yet alone. I myself have been in a particular situation not having my smart phone, though I was surrounded by friends, being as if I were not in the room. I was left feeling as though I were in an unfamiliar place with a group of strangers, even though were considered to be really close friends.…
