Beyonce could have equally made the same video in sneakers, sweatpants and a t-shirt. I absolutely agree that this video could make some children self-conscious about their appearance. My first thought was “who goes to workout dressed like that”. Further, I don't believe her effort was genuine. Shortly after the video was made she signed a contract to endorse Pepsi soda in t.v. Commercials. The two campaigns are in direct conflict with one another. That leads me to believe that the video was just a PR move and smarts of a token goodwill effort to support a good cause. The bottom line is, if a celebrity is going to support a cause they need to model the behavior in their own life. In a Time Magazine article, “Let’s Move: But Not With Shaq and Beyonce”, Alexandra Sifferlin writes "letting stars with junk food deals promote the campaign in front of kids seems to undo some of this positive progress, if not invalidate it altogether”. The article also discusses Shaq's participation in the Let's Move campaign but then turned around and launched his own soda line (who knew...*cringe). The full article can be read here: http://healthland.time.com/2013/09/16/lets-move-but-not-with-shaq-and-beyonce/. As well as a better dance video with Michelle Obama and Ellen Degeneres can be seen
