Some steps that must be completed are getting research on the theme, establishing the theme, knowing how to approach the theme creative wise, and actually completing the treatment. To first start off a treatment, the basics need to be figure out, since “Your video treatment is the foundation of the video project” (Lonnquist 1). These include a theme or a message that needs to be conveyed in the video. A target audience and a purpose for the whole production are needed. The target audience is who is supposed to be interested enough by the video to actually buy the product. It is also crucial to keep everything in budget because there is only so much money to spend, if it all spent before everything is completed then there will be a problem. This is important to have before the video is actually developed, because if there isn’t a theme, the video will be a total mess. It is necessary to have the video be based around a topic, so everything is organized and establishes its purpose easier.
