Through periodic seminars and trainings students can learn to survive and somewhat thrive while under harsh conditions. These seminars are equipped to ensure the students are capable of handling any situation no matter the circumstance. Seminars are hands-on, engaging, and informative. As well as providing knowledge of recovery programs that help people restock their homes with food after much loss of the natural disaster. On campus, will have sites open to receive available supplies and get answers to any possible questions anyone may have. While researching my group and I learned of the lack of resources available for students around the time of hurricane season. As a result, this lead to my thoughts of whether or not assets were available during another type of natural disasters. Hurricanes are monitored and followed throughout the entire course of the disaster whereas earthquakes and some other natural occurrences are sudden. Just to think, about if there are programs in different universities that educate students about earthquakes, tsunamis, droughts, and more. How do students at other universities in other countries prepare for such unexpected circumstances? We know for sure that schools are not canceled for long periods of time at the simple thought that an earthquake or tsunami may occur. People continue to live their daily lives without a thought or care in the world that their livelihoods can be stripped away from then in just seconds of one natural disaster. I believe that the basis and objective of the program operation hurricane preparedness can be applied to other natural disasters in areas across the world to use a template to create an alternative spinoff programs to help students all throughout the world.
