In recent weeks there has been numerous natural disasters in several different places. From Hurricane Harvey in Houston, Texas, to the extreme fires in Los Angeles, California, to Hurricane Irma becoming a Category 5 hurricane that is about to hit South Florida and could possibly make its way up the east coast of the United States and even hit us here in New York in a week or two, to Tropical Storm Jose forming right behind Hurricane Irma, and many other storms and disasters that aren't being talked about because there is just too much going on. The aftermath of these disasters are brutal to the people and their communities. For example, NFL Star JJ Watt started a relief fund for the people in Houston who were effected by Hurricane Harvey. His foundation has already raised over $30 million and that number is only going to increase over time. There are plenty of charity foundations that you can donate to in order to help the victims of natural disasters such as UNICEF, Humane Society, The Salvation Army, GoFundMe, Americanes, and many other charity foundations. However, even though it is one of the more popular foundations, I would not donate to The Red Cross. The Red Cross has a history of being sketchy and shady with the money they receive and many people, including myself, believe it is a scam. For example, Red Cross received about $500 million in donations for Haiti after their earthquake in 2010, but only 6 liveable houses were built. Haiti still hasn't received all of the money from Red Cross that was donated to them. There are many good charity foundations to donate to, I just don't believe Red Cross is one of them. Money isn't the only thing you could donate. Many of the victims are in need of food and first aid kits so even donating those things would help. Anything could make a
