He was the first survivor that Rick met in the first season of the series. Although he was separated with Rick, he always had an appearance in every season. Rick would leave clues for Morgan whenever his group leaves a place and move to a new location, and Morgan always seem to find those clues every time. Assuming from the finale episode of season five, it seems like the next season will explain what happened to Morgan during the time he separated from Rick. Because Morgan’s character isn’t that important to the show nor he is popular with the viewers, the writers could just leave his story as an open ended, but they decided to do the opposite. However, the writers of the show do something that keep the viewers from abandoning the show despite the long wait. They like to put a cliffhanger on the end of every season that triggers the curiosity of the people on what’s going to happen on the next season. For example, at the end of season five, Beth Greene (Emily Kinney), the youngest member of the Greene family, was taken away by a person with a car. Viewers were speculating where Beth was taken. Some people guessed she was brought to a church while others said she was in another place. I, just like other people, want to know the real location of Beth, so I didn’t have any choice but to watch the next season.
Also, during the finale of season five, Rick killed a guy and Morgan witnessed it. He didn’t seem to like what he saw, but in The Walking Dead universe, killing people should be a normal sight. The episode didn’t explain why Morgan was mad, and also if he would still be friends with Rick even after what he saw. These questions will only be answered if the viewers watch the new season of the show.
