A leader is someone who influences others to achieve goals for the good of an organization. While many managers and program directors are leaders, this is not always the case. At my current place of employment, however, the program director is a leader. Each day, he motivates me to do the best that I can for the good of the company.
On a daily basis, the program director at my office exhibits many of the characteristics possessed by leaders. To begin with, he has the ability to process and analyze data in such a way that reveals patterns and information about the well-being of the organization. He is driven to perform at his best for the good of the company and has the knowledge necessary to make key decisions. His desire to fulfill his role as a manager and a leader is evident in his daily work. I truly believe that, without him, our organization would not be where it is today. While not all agree with his management style, this man is a leader in the true sense of the word. He exhibits a considerate behavior towards others and has a genuine interest in their well-being. His concern for others instills trust in his subordinates and opens the lines of communication. It is for this reason that the organization that he runs operates like a well-oiled machine. If a member of staff is having a problem, they are able to turn to him for support. While he is stern regarding the amount of effort and dedication that he expects from his employees, he is also protective…
