The Pros And Cons Of Racial Profiling

People believe that racial profiling is an effective way to eliminate crime in the community and even as far as the nation. What are your beliefs. If racial profiling is present in todays society, it is strongly against the law. But why is this so bad? Why do people want to eliminate racial profiling? There are three main reasons why Racial Profiling is the wrong approach to get rid of crime. These reasons are because it is a violation of our basic rights, it is considered harassment, and it is against the law. Racial Profiling is a very strong reason why racism is still present in today’s world. How would you feel if every time you go into a store, the cashier follows you around, or whenever you are driving, you always get pulled over by the police when driving on the streets?Using racial profiling may stop some criminal activity, but it does more harm than good. The fourth Amendment goes as follows: “The right of the people to be secure in their persons, houses, papers, and effects, against unreasonable searches and seizures, shall not be violated, and no Warrants shall issue, but upon probable cause, supported by Oath or affirmation, and particularly describing the place to be searched, and the persons or things to be seized” (Wikipedia.com, 2014). This amendment was set forth to protect the people against the law enforcements going into your home without reasonable cause. One story emphasizes the importance of this amendment. This story is about how the Los Angeles police was investigated on their motives when they pull someone over. They stated that it is close to impossible to determine if race is the sole component of how they go about pulling someone over or searching their car. This does not mean that racial profiling is not present, but it does mean that it will be a tough argument. this does not discourage the facts, however (Bobb,
