Let’s hear it for the new millennium! Remember the year 2000 when the world was supposed to end and the world was supposed to rapidly change? Well it has changed ranging from technology, hospital care, and even legalizing marijuana. What? Yes legalizing marijuana is on the ballet and has been. Smoke shops opened up everywhere, almost anyone has access to a medical marijuana card. Can you imagine walking into a store and you see a child buying marijuana on their way to school or wherever there going. Some think that legalizing marijuana can help the economies debt however some still believe that it will just be yet another stupid thing kids can get away with. In this paper I will evaluate both sides evaluating the pros and cons of each ending. This paper will also evaluate what marijuana actually is and a few different strains to express what each one can do or not due.

Let’s take a looks at Colorado whom have legalized marijuana. So far since it became legal, “according to the state’s department of revenue, the first ten months of marijuana sales, has almost been $40 million in tax revenue.”(drugpolicy.org). In Denver city there was a decrease in crime which continued to drop. Another thing that has continued to drop was deaths caused by accidents. A good thing that has come through this legalization for Colorado is they have raised over eight million dollars to fund youth education and drug prevention efforts so they do not start smoking at a young age.
