Marijuana has been around for a very long time in this world. Sometimes it was used for rituals to enhance the spiritual connections to the earth and surrounding. Other times it was used recreationally to somewhat escape reality. Mostly drugs are seen as horrible substances to stay away from at all costs. We get this idea from the horror stories and tall tales that have been passed down and told to us throughout the years. Although a large push towards ridding the United States of this drug began with The War on Drugs during Nixon 's presidency in 1971. By allowing marijuana to be legally sold it would generate a great amount of tax revenue to help and be used in others ways to help the people. It would cut down on the unnecessary criminalization of minorities and reduce the racial bias that stands in many big cities towards these minorities. Also it host many medicinal properties and advantages. Firstly, it could help generate a tax revenue and to keep money in the economy rather than spend it on unnecessary expenses. Secondly, it could help reduce the racial bias police have in big cities towards minorities and arresting them for possession of marijuana. Lastly, marijuana possess many medicinal advantages that are not found in many of the prescription medications we have now and help aid in other treatments as well. Hopefully in the future if marijuana is legalized it can bring more people together and promote a healthier economy with more money circulating in it to help rebuilding in poor
