In the United States alone, approximately 100 million animals die each year, due to the adverse effects of animal testing. The majority of these casualties are a result of cosmetic companies’ intensive experimentation methods. Additionally, the procedure of animal testing has many issues such as fallacious results, various limitations in the testing process, and most importantly, the scarifications of numerous animals. Not only does does it cause detrimental effects to the subjects, but it also affects mankind, the environment, and even our economy. Overall, there is no reason to continue animal testing due to the faulty results that do not benefit anyone, but the companies themselves, who neglect to correctly conjecture the chemical substances. Unfortunately, animal testing also has many biological and physiological limitations, which lead to undesirable results, unexaminable conditions, and eventually more pain inflicted to the animals. A simple cladogram can show that even though animals and humans are in the same kingdom and family, our detailed genus, order, and species diverges greatly. Subsequently, a recent study shows that it is virtually impossible to assess in animals the risk of a product causing a slow developing disease in people, as their lifespan is much shorter than a human’s lifespan (Animal Aid Organization 1). However, cosmetic companies and their researchers still continue to wrongfully test on animals whilst ignoring this detrimental difference, which in the end will strongly affect the animals and even mankind. Mankind should not suffer for the faults of big corporate companies that fail to recognize the danger of animal testing and its capability of providing undependable results. Also, people who purchase animal tested products are more prone to disease and harm due to the unreliable results from testing. So, cosmetic companies should discontinue the practice of animal testing, or mankind will face much more intense health-issues in the near future. Since cosmetic companies use the most intensive methods of testing, they produce the most toxic waste, which is carelessly disposed of. In fact, many scientists have concluded that many these man-made chemicals are damaging wildlife, causing decreased fertility and gender dysfunction (Animal Aid Organization 2). If this process continues to occur, the environment will perish due to the causes of air and water pollution.
